1. How do I get started with Stinger?

   Open Stinger and read a sentence out loud in the set-up assistant to calibrate your mic and pace, then paste your script and press Load and finish.

2. Which scroll mode should I use in Stinger?

   Pick Auto for a steady, polished read; Voice for natural pauses and breathing room; Track if you ad-lib, restart, or skip lines.

3. How do I train Track mode?

   Open Help › Train Track Mode… (or Settings › Voice & Track › Train Track…) and read one short paragraph aloud while Stinger listens.

4. How do I get the best results from Stinger's Track mode?

   Train Track mode first by reading a sentence in setup so it learns your pace and microphone level.

5. How do I set microphone sensitivity in Stinger?

   Go to Settings › Voice & Track, switch to Voice or Track mode, and talk at your recording level while watching the Level bar.

6. How do I choose a different microphone or camera in Stinger?

   Settings › Voice & Track lists every input on your Mac.

7. How do I show Stinger in a demo or webinar?

   Stinger is hidden from screen capture by design.

8. How do I control Stinger from a presentation clicker or keyboard shortcut?

   Stinger responds to global hotkeys from any app: ⌘P play/pause, ⌘R restart, ⌘↑/⌘↓ speed, ⌘⇧M show/hide, ⌘⇧N snap to notch, ⌘⇧→/⌘⇧← next/previous section.

9. How do I use sections in Stinger?

   Mark a line with ## to make it a section heading.

10. How do I move the prompter away from the notch?

    Drag the panel or use Prompter › Float Prompter to detach it from the notch.

11. How do I memorize a script with Stinger?

    Prompter › Memorize breaks your script into chunks (one paragraph each, long paragraphs split into sentences) and steps you through them one at a time.

12. What are take marks in Stinger?

    Take marks are a cut list: every time you press play, Stinger logs pauses, resumes, re-reads, and restarts with timestamps so you (or your editor) find the stumble.

13. How do I import a script into Stinger?

    Use File › Import Script… (⌘I), or drag files directly onto the prompter panel or Scripts window.

14. How do I connect an AI assistant to Stinger?

    Stinger runs a small MCP server that lets Claude, Cursor or Codex read and write your scripts.

15. Can I control Stinger from my phone or iPad?

    Yes.

16. Can I change the text size and font in Stinger?

    Yes.

17. What permissions does Stinger ask for?

    Stinger asks for microphone, speech recognition, camera, and screen recording — only when you use the features that need them.

18. How do I uninstall Stinger?

    Quit Stinger, drag it from Applications to the Trash, and optionally delete ~/Library/Application Support/Stinger/ to remove your scripts and settings.

19. Will people on my call see the Stinger prompter?

    Stinger asks macOS to exclude its panel from capture.
