How do I format a script for a teleprompter?

Paste the script below. The tool strips hidden characters, non-breaking spaces, tabs, and bullet glyphs, rejoins sentences a PDF broke across lines, and turns short ALL-CAPS lines, lines ending in a colon, and lines like "Section 2" into proper section headings.

Check the headings it created

The tool turns short ALL-CAPS lines, lines ending in a colon, and lines like "Section 2" or "Slide 4" into section headings: lines that start with "## ". Then scan the result and make sure it caught the breaks you actually wanted marked. You can edit any line before you download, so if it missed one or added one you don't need, fix it right in the box.

Download it as a Markdown file

Press Download and the cleaned script saves as a .md file. Plain text, no hidden formatting, nothing left over from Word or the PDF it came from. You can also press Copy if you'd rather paste it straight into another app. The text you pasted isn't saved anywhere once you leave the page.

Open it in Stinger

Every '## ' line the cleaner adds becomes a section in Stinger, so the file opens with the sections already there. Use File › Import Script… (⌘I), or drag the .md file onto the prompter panel or the Scripts window. Then ⌘⇧→ and ⌘⇧← jump between sections while you read, a presentation clicker does the same in Clicker mode, and the phone remote lists every section so you can tap straight to it.

Questions

Why do I need to clean a script before using a teleprompter?

Scripts pasted from Word, Google Docs, or a PDF carry hidden characters and formatting that can break how a teleprompter reads them. Zero-width spaces, soft hyphens, and sentences split mid-line by a PDF export all cause the same problem: the prompter shows you a mess instead of your words.

What counts as a section heading?

Any short ALL-CAPS line, a line ending in a colon, or a line like "Section 2" or "Slide 4" becomes a section heading, marked with "## " at the start. These become jump points once the script is in a teleprompter that supports sections.

Will this remove page numbers and bullet points?

Yes, page numbers and bullet glyphs are stripped along with tabs and non-breaking spaces. What's left is the sentence content, rejoined where a PDF had broken it across lines.

Does the tool save or store what I paste?

No, the text you paste is not saved anywhere. There's no sign-up or email required to use it, and nothing is kept once you leave the page.

How many times can I use this tool?

Five times per day, then it stops until tomorrow. Each visitor gets 5 runs a day; the count resets the next day, and a trial offer appears under the limit message if you need to keep going.
