Stinger

Stinger keeps your script under the lens while you talk

Stinger is a Mac teleprompter that hangs your script right under the camera so your eyes stay on or near the lens.

Free 7-day trial · No card · Auto scrolling on one Mac. Voice and Track require a paid license. Start your trial inside the downloaded Mac app.

Person — gaze toward the headline, plain background

For people whose work puts them on camera.

You know the material. But a script in another window asks you to keep finding your place while you talk to the camera. Stinger puts those words close to the lens, where a quick glance takes less of your attention.

It is built for coaches, consultants, course creators, salespeople, and business owners who make their own videos. Your Mac can be the place you write, rehearse, and deliver the message.

Choose a fixed pace, scroll when you speak, or use Track to follow your words. You can pause, restart, and move the panel to suit the camera you use.

Made by David Vaughan.

I'm David Vaughan, the maker of Stinger. I run First Light Holdings LLC in North Carolina. Stinger is for the part of your work that asks you to show up on camera: a lesson, a client call, a product explanation, or a video for your business.

The aim is practical: put your words where you can use them, help you rehearse, and make the controls easy to reach while you talk. If something gets in the way, I want to hear about the setup you use and the job you were trying to finish.

Follows words, not volume

Track mode uses on-device speech recognition to keep the lit line on the words leaving your mouth, and it learns your pace as you read to set the fallback speed.

Check your capture

Stinger asks macOS to exclude its panel from capture. Use Ghost Check, then verify in the meeting or recording app and sharing mode you plan to use; capture behavior varies.

Local tools, optional cloud features

Voice and Track process microphone input locally. Premier Practice Partner sends microphone audio and script context for cloud processing; Voiceover sends script text. Optional iCloud sync uploads scripts to your Apple Account.
