What Stinger actually does

Stinger puts your script just below the Mac camera, with a pace you can control.

Keeps your eyes on the lens

The script sits within a couple of degrees of the camera, with one line lit at a time, so glancing at your words looks like eye contact.

Scrolls at a set pace

Timed scrolling at lines-per-minute you control, adjustable on the fly if you speed up or slow down.

Scrolls when you talk

Voice mode moves the script while you're speaking and pauses the moment you stop — no button to hit.

Follows the words you say

Track mode listens to what's leaving your mouth and keeps the lit line there, so skipping ahead or restarting a sentence doesn't throw it off.

Check before you share

Stinger asks macOS to exclude its panel from capture. Use Ghost Check, then verify in the meeting or recording app and sharing mode you plan to use; capture behavior varies.

Moves anywhere you need it

Drag the panel out of the notch and float it wherever it's easiest to see, resized to fit.

1

Drop in your script

Paste or type your script into the built-in editor, or import a file you already wrote. It's saved as a plain file on your Mac.

2

Hang it under the lens

The panel anchors right under your Mac's camera — in the notch on newer Macs, top-center on others — so your eyes stay near the lens the whole time.

3

Pick how it scrolls

Set a pace, let it scroll while you talk, or let it follow the actual words you say — so pausing, ad-libbing, or restarting a line doesn't lose your place.

4

Check, then record

Stinger asks macOS to exclude its panel from capture. Use Ghost Check, then verify in the meeting or recording app and sharing mode you plan to use; capture behavior varies.

You already know what to say

The camera shouldn't be the thing that takes it from you. Most people who talk to a Mac camera for work are being told they're bad on camera when really they're bad at reading off to the side — nobody's good at that. Put the words where your eyes already are, and you're just talking again.

Your next recording starts with the setup.
